We are committed to ensuring that the Handloom Weaver Information System web portal is accessible to all users irrespective of device in use, technology or ability. It has been built with the aim of providing maximum accessibility and usability to its visitors.
We have put in our best efforts to be standards compliant and follow principles of usability and universal design, which should help all visitors of this website.
This web portal is designed using HTML 4.01 Transitional to meet Guidelines for Indian Government Websites and also adheres to Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 laid down by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
The web portal currently has no audio / video capabilities.
The language currently maintained on all the pages is English only, as the software application and database can be developed with English-only IDEs. There is a proposal to introduce Hindi language for only the analytics and reports, in future.
There is no scope for any commercialization of the portal and all the analytics and reports are free for public use. Also, the portal has no usage of Tender or Procurement listings.
All downloadable analytics and reports, in PDF, Word, Excel file formats are free from all viruses.
Development Commissioner for Handlooms is still working towards making its web portal accessible for persons with disabilities. However, at the current level of development, some of the pages of the website may not be accessible.
Features incorporated in the Handloom Weaver Information System website to make it accessible are:
- The Web page content is organized using appropriate headings and subheadings that provide a readable structure.
- An appropriate name for each Web page is specified that helps to understand the page content easily.
- Consistent means of navigation and style of presentation throughout the Website has been incorporated.
- The website can be browsed using a keyboard by pressing the Tab and Shift + Tab keys.
